พระบรมราโชวาท ร.๙ ใจความ ศิษย์กับครู (ตอน 3)

สวัสดีปีใหม่ 2559/2016 ครับทุกท่าน ผมชื่อแทนครับ เรามาต่อกันเลยนะครับ เรื่องการแปลพระบรมราโชวาทบทหนึ่ง เกี่ยวกับคุณค่าของการศึกษาครับ


จากโพ้สก่อนหน้า ได้แปลไปส่วนหนึ่ง ได้ใจความเป็นภาษาอังกฤษดังนี้ครับ


The most important responsibility of a student is to study with all one’s strength and to do so successfully. How to do that precisely? One should understand that one must have the knowledge to start with in making the way to future happiness and prosperity. If you don’t have the initial endeavour to study then there will be no chance and life will be gloomy and useless because of not having knowledge available.

เรามาต่อกันครับ จากประโยคต่อว่า

"เมื่อเข้าใจแล้วอย่างนี้ จะได้รักเรียน ขยันเรียนด้วยความบากบั่นอดทน" อาจเขียนเป็นภาษาอังกฤษได้ว่า

Once this is understood, you will enjoy studying, will make an effort to do it perseveringly and patiently.

เนื่องจากความหมายมีความเป็นเงื่อนไขกันอยู่ จริงใช้โครงสร้าง IF Clause ครับ โดยเปลี่ยนจาก If เป็น Once ครับ

ส่วนในประโยคต่อไป เราเสมือนกับ “แชร์” ประธานของ Main clause คำว่า “you” ไว้กับอีก clause ด้านหลังนะครับ จึงละไปเลย แต่ต้องมาต่อโครงสร้าง will + V/base +(obj) ไว้ เพื่อให้เห็นว่าเป็น main clause ของประโยคเงื่อนไขที่ “มีโอกาสเป็นไปได้จริงในปัจจุบัน” เหมือนกันครับ

จากประโยค "เพราะรู้ซึ้งถึงประโยชน์และคุณค่าของความรู้"
เราทำตรงนี้ให้เป็น Passive voice ก็ดีนะครับ โดยใช้ร่วมกับ กริยาช่วย ‘could’ ก็ไพเราะดีครับ ได้ว่า
Because advantages and values of the knowledge could be grasped.
