สวัสดีครับ ผม Than เอง เช่นเคยเราจะค่อยๆ เรียนรู้ภาษาอังกฤษดีๆ กันที่นี้ สมัยผมเด็กๆ ผมมีความใฝ่ฝันครับว่าอยากจะไปเรียนต่อต่างประเทศ เพื่อจะได้ฝึกภาษาอังกฤษให้เก่งเหมือนเจ้าของภาษา พอได้ไปพำนักอยู่ที่เทศอังกฤษในปี 2002 ก็ได้ลิ้มลองภาษาอังกฤษของแท้ซึ่งมันมีสำนวนภาษาเยอะมากครับ แต่ตอนนั้นก็วัยรุ่น มีไฟ กำลังคร่ำเคร่งเรื่องเรียนพร้อมไปกับการสังสรรค์กินเหล้ากับเพื่อนๆ งาน part time ที่ต้องทำก็ทำให้ได้ชั่วโมงได้เงินค่าแรงไปครับ ก็ไม่ค่อยได้ใส่ใจเรียนภาษาอังกฤษเท่าไหร่หรอกครับ เอาพอผ่านๆไปครับตอนนั้น พอโตขึ้นมาสักหน่อย พอได้ทำงานถึงเข้าใจว่าภาษาอังกฤษที่ดีเป็นตัวชี้เส้นทางของเราที่แท้จริง ผมตัดสินใจครับว่าจะฝึกปรือเอาให้ดีทีเดียวเลย และแน่นอนการเรียนรู้ไม่มีวันสิ้นสุด ทุกวันนี้ก็มีสำนวนอังกฤษดีๆ ให้ได้เห็นเพิ่มขึ้นเรื่อยๆ เรียนรู้ จำได้ พอได้เวลาเหมาะสมก็นำไปใช้ครับ เพราะภาษาอังกฤษเรามีสำนวนดีๆ ไว้ใช้เยอะมากครับ


วันนี้ผมขอเอาคำนี้มาฝากครับ ในกรณีนี้ผมขอแนะนำว่าให้ใช้เพื่ออธิบายสถานการณ์ "หมดปัญหาซะที" ครับ นั่นคือเราอาจมีข้อที่ต้องแก้ไขหาทางออก ก็ดิ้นสู้เต็มที่ แก้ไขปัญหาที่หมกมุ่นวุ้นอยู่สักพัก พอแก้ไขมันสำเร็จสักที เราจะบอก "หมดปัญหาซะที" เราพูดว่า out of woods ครับ ที่มาของสำนวนนี้ผมว่าน่าจะมาจากการหลงป่าของคนเราครับ พอออกจากป่ามาได้ ก็เหมือนพ้นรอดปลอดภัย มีชีวิตกลับสู่ปกติ หายห่วง โล่งอก หมดเคราะห์หมดโศกสะที หลุดพ้น เคลียใจ ดีใจที่หมดปัญหานะครับ ความหมายประมาณนี้ครับ นำไปใช้กันครับ แล้วพอผมได้ research ดู ก็พบว่าเป็นเช่นนั้นจริงๆครับ ว่าช่วงปีที่ระบุว่าพบการใช้สำนวน out of woods นี้คือปี 1792 สมัย Roman Times เลยนะครับ นานเชียว

ฉันหากุญแจไม่เจอเลย ฉันหาดูทุกที่แล้วนะ คุณช่วยฉันหาหน่อยสิค่ะ

เอ้า แล้วคุณดูที่กระเป๋าถือของคุณหรือยังครับ?

Beth) Oh here is it. I'm out of the woods! Thanks!
ออ อยู่นี่เอง หมดปัญหาละ ขอบคุณค่ะ

ที่น่าสนใจอีกอย่างก็คือ สำนวน out of woods เราอาจจะใช้คำว่า the หรือตัดออก ก็ได้นะครับ แล้วแต่ว่าจะชี้เฉพาะเจาะจงกับคนฟังอย่างไรครับ

หรือตัวอย่างเรื่องการงานของเรา เช่น

It was impossible to submit my project report to my processor as it was because the writing contained so many grammar mistakes. After realising this, it took me the whole month to get around English grammar. I re-wrote the work and submitted the work. Not only did I sumit my work on time but also now I'm out of the woods.
ฉันส่งโปรเจ็คให้อาจารย์อย่างนั้นไม่ได้หรอก เพราะภาษามันมีความผิดเรื่องไวยากรณ์เยอะหลายจุด หลังจากที่ฉันรู้แล้ว ฉันก็ใช้เวลาทั้งเดือนเรียนรู้ภาษาอังกฤษจริงๆ จังสะที ฉันแก้ไขเขียนงานใหม่และส่งมัน ไม่เพียงแต่ฉันส่งงานทันเวลาแต่ฉันยังผ่านพ้นวิวิกฤตมาได้อีกด้วย


หรือว่า
As soon as her temper is down, she will be out of the woods.
เมื่ออารมณ์ของเธอเย็นลง เธอก็จะพ้นจากปัญหานี้เอง


แล้วก็มีเพลงของ Taylor Swift ที่ตั้งชื่อเพลงว่า out of the woods เลย ความหมายเดียวกันกับที่ผมเขียนอธิบายไว้นี่แหละครับ เธอผลิตชิ้นงานเพลงนี้ได้ดีทีเดียว มิวสิควีดีโอก็สวย งดงาม มีศิลปะดีครับ ผมจึงมาฝากกัน พร้อม lyrics ภาษาอังกฤษครับ
